Why Donkey?
The name says it all. A donkey doesn't complain, doesn't cut corners, and doesn't stop until the job is done. That's the standard we hold every task to.
We built Donkey for Johannesburg — a city that moves fast, demands a lot, and rewards people who show up. Whether you're a student drowning in assignments, a professional with no time, or a homeowner with a leaking pipe — we show up.
The goal is simple: make "I'll get someone to handle that" accessible to everyone in Johannesburg, no matter what the task is.
The Journey
2020
Unispaza founded — student marketplace at Wits. First taste of building something from nothing.
2022–2025
MSc (Distinction) — NRF-funded solar energy research at Wits. Tutored and mentored students throughout.
2024
Solution Strategist — financial services strategy and product development.
2025
Donkey launched — because Johannesburg needed a reliable, no-nonsense task service. And someone had to build it.
